Lenora Suki, CAIA, LEED AP

Founder and Principal, Smart Cities Advisors

Lenora Suki founded Smart Cities Advisors in 2007 to advise social enterprises and impact investors on inclusive, sustainable housing and urban investment, as well as promote market creation and visibility for the sector in the mainstream and impact marketplaces. Lenora also co-manages a domestic retail and residential property portfolio. Prior to SCA, Lenora was Associate Director at the Earth Institute at Columbia University, advising public and private sector partners on sustainable development, foreign investment and financial development. As regional fixed income strategist at Santander Investment, Lenora served institutional and private clients throughout the US, Latin America and Europe. As an analyst at Offitbank, Lenora supported a portfolio of nearly $1 billion in global emerging market equity, debt and structured assets. Prior to graduate school, Lenora worked at the World Bank on projects in private sector development and transition countries.

Lenora holds an MBA from the Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) credential and LEED AP designation, as well as having completed CFA Level 3 and applying for the charter. She was a Board Officer of the MIT Club of New York 2010-2012. Recent publications include “Building Energy Efficiency Industries: International Experiences” for the 2010 3i Network’s India Infrastructure Report.  Her TV and print appearances include BBC, CNBC, CNN, CNN en Espanol, Reuters, Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal, among appearances in local developing countries’ news media. She speaks – to varying degrees – Spanish, Portuguese and French.

Meredith Elliott

Business Development and Legal Officer

Meredith Elliott is an attorney and relationship manager who has worked in both the public and private sectors.  Meredith started Impact Legal in August, 2012.  Impact Legal provides corporate legal services to non-profits, impact investors, NGOs and entrepreneurs.  Prior to this, Meredith worked as the Strategic Relationships Officer of E+Co, a global nonprofit which invests in clean energy enterprises in Africa, Asia and Latin America with a mission towards alleviating poverty and mitigating climate change.  She joined the E+Co team in August of 2009 and worked in the areas of development and communications.  She also addressed general legal issues and managed the E+Co Internship Program.   Prior to this, she was a senior associate in the global structured finance and restructuring group at Seward & Kissel, LLP in New York, New York.  She has substantial experience in business development, recruitment and mentoring.  She has worked on a pro bono basis with several non-profit organizations, including Human Rights Watch, Foundation for Young Orphans, Trade Art Abroad and American Ballet Theater.  Meredith has held several leadership positions with the International Section of the American Bar Association.  She holds a BA and JD from The University of Wisconsin, Madison and studied European Union Law and Economics at The University of Groningen in The Netherlands.
